EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WORKING WITH CREATORS ON TIKTOK
CHALLENGE
Bupa had ambitious goals for 2024, aiming to achieve stretch targets despite pressure on marketing budgets. A key priority was to drive incremental reach while effectively engage with younger audiences.
Additionally, there was a strong emphasis on “doing more with less”, maximising the impact of channel investments and extracting greater value from existing creative assets.
As brands pursue authenticity, they are increasingly turning to creators to craft messages that resonate, particularly with younger audiences. The challenge for Atomic was not only to leverage this trend to drive greater advertising efficiency but also to establish a clear methodology for measuring the performance of creator-driven content against BAU activity.
SOLUTION
To implement the solution, we chose TikTok, a platform that resonates strongly with younger audiences and offers an opportunity to reach incremental users who may not be active on other social media platforms. Additionally, TikTok provides an ideal environment for collaborating with creators to enhance authenticity.
Victoria Devine was selected as the creator due to her strong appeal among younger audiences on TikTok. The video was produced in a native, platform-specific style to ensure a seamless ad experience, enhance the authenticity of the Bupa brand, and maximise the efficiency of our channel investment.
In today’s media landscape, last-click conversions are becoming less reliable as a sole performance metric. To demonstrate the value of this initiative, MROI was measured using a Media Mix Model. The results showed that creator-led messaging generated a 37% higher ROI than BAU creative, successfully achieving our objective and extracting greater value from our creative assets.
